Denali National Park in Alaska is hiring for 2007 trail crew positions

Work in Denali

Denali National Park in Alaska is hiring for 2007 trail crew positions. Applicants are sought for entry level (WG-03), experienced trail workers (WG-05), and crewleader (WG-07) positions. Projects include new trail construction in a high alpine environment, restoration of damaged tundra ecosystems, trail bridge construction and rehabilitation of a historic trail. While Denali does not have a backcountry trail program, all worksites are away from the road and have spectacular scenery. Inexpensive housing is available. Living and working in Denali offers unparalleled access to backcountry camping, trail-less Wilderness, and wildlife and scenery viewing. Come work with a fun and highly motivated crew and make a difference in Denali, "Crown Jewel" of the Alaskan National Parks.

Jobs are announced at www.usajobs.opm.gov beginning in early January. Entry level positions will probably be open for 7-10 days and trailworker and crewleader positions will probably be open for 2-3 weeks. Please note that applications cannot be accepted after these open periods.
