Hosted by AmericanTrails.org Miami-Dade County seeks park planner PARK PLANNER 3 SALARY ENTRY: $56,788 to MAX: $94,592 Annually Master's degree and two years of professional planning experience to include park or recreation open space planning; or Bachelor's degree and three years of professional planning experience to include park or recreation open space planning are required. Must possess a Driver license. Experience in greenways and trail projects, GIS, and large-scale public planning projects is preferred. Certification as an American Institute Comprehensive Planner (AICP) or Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) is desired. The County Park and Recreation Department, Planning and Development Division is committed to developing a model park system for the 21st century that includes sustainable, connected Parks, Playgrounds and Conservation Land. Individuals interested in applying for the position of Park Planner 3 must have experience in greenways and trails planning, design and development as well as strong analytical and research skills as it relates to park planning, design, development, urban design and urban planning. The candidate must be versed in smart growth, sustainability and green infrastructure principles as they relate to park planning, development and urban design at the scale of the neighborhood, city, county and region. These skills will contribute to building on the success of the departments initiaitves and to the ongoing quest to create a better quality of life for the Miami-Dade County community.
