Hosted by AmericanTrails.org Lake County (IL) Forest Preserve seeks planner Application Deadline: August 17, 2007 Full-time Position Salary Range: $41,555 - $51,633 - $61,709 Location: Grayslake, IL The Preserve Planner I utilizes professional landscape architectural and engineering knowledge in order to plan, design and implement recreation and natural resource capital improvement projects for the District. Conducts detailed on-site assessments, performs technical research studies, and compiles and analyzes data for the preparation of feasibility studies and master land management plans for District properties. Serves as job manager on small-scale projects and assists on large-scale projects. Manages and assists in the preparation of site plans, analysis, conceptual design, graphics, specifications and cost estimates, and directing and monitoring outside consultants. Prepares working drawings and bid specifications, inspects construction work in progress to ensure contract and specification compliance, determines necessary changes and prepares and submits change orders and payout requests. EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture or other closely related field. Knowledge of trees, shrubs and herbaceous ground cover and plant communities native to northeastern Illinois, knowledge of the standard sources of landscape architecture and site engineering information, including site surveys and analysis, conceptual designs and detailed graphic and written plans. One year of experience is preferred. CAD experience required. Candidates will submit copies of their work.
