More so than specific experience designing trail projects, we are looking to hire a highly motivated and detail-oriented designer (engineer, landscape architect or other) who fits with our culture, is inspired by doing quality work and wants to create sustainable infrastructure. This is a great opportunity for the right person to join the high-quality staff of a unique, top-notch company. Job Summary - Designer on path and trail projects. Will also have opportunities to work on street (traffic calming, streetscape & intersection) and bridge (pedestrian and vehicular) projects. - Design responsibilities: design of plan and profile, cross sections, construction phasing, grading, drainage, hydraulics, right-of-way, utilities, bridges, retaining walls and cost estimates. Our projects require a significant amount of coordination between (and understanding of) these various disciplines that present themselves as opportunities or constraints. The best solution melds these factors into a design that seamlessly fits into its surroundings while optimizing the user's experience. - Manage small projects. Optimum Qualifications - Four years minimum experience designing street, path/trail and/or bridge projects according to local, National Forest Service, CDOT and AASHTO standards. - Experience in grading, drainage, utility and/or structural design. - Proficiency in AutoCad, and roadway design software (InRoads), as well as Word and Excel. If you don't have proficiency in this design software, we will provide the training, but you must be willing to put in the effort to learn. - Professional registration beneficial but not required.
