2004 National Recreation Trail designations

Secretary of Interior announces designation of 27 new National Recreation Trails

The nomination process follows an annual timetable which results in official designation by the Secretary of the Interior each June. All trails designated as National Recreation Trails become part of the Online NRT Registry.

The following trails and greenways were designated in 2004 as National Recreation Trails:

Arizona - Aspen Spring Trail (backcountry trail)
Arkansas - Tunstall Riverwalk (State Park walking trail in conservation area)
Florida - Clearwater East-West Trail (greenway; urban trail/bikeway)
Florida - Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail (greenway; rail-trail; urban trail/bikeway; water trail)
Florida - Great Calusa Blueway (water trail)
