Training providers for trails and greenways skills

Organizations and agencies that host classes, workshops, and other educational opportunities. See the National Trails Training Partnership Calendar for scheduled training events.

Colorado Trails Symposium is a statewide trails conference for all organizations, advocates, communities, and agencies involved in trails, greenways, and recreation routes. For the next Symposium contact: Lori Malcolm, State Trails Coordinator at (303) 791-1957 ext 131 or lori.malcolm@state.co.us.

• Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado sponsors trail design and crew leader classes.

• Colorado Off-Highway Coalition sponsors a statewide workshop every year and encourages participation from both motorized and non-motorized trails interests and land managers.

• The Colorado Trail Foundation recruits and trains volunteers for trail construction, coordinates the Adopt-A-Trail maintenance program.

• Colorado Outdoor Training Initiative is working to coordinate trails training throughout the state and has a new Crew Leader Training curriculum.

• Colorado Youth Corps Association provides training for youth corps crew leaders and others who lead trail and conservation crews.

• With 3,100 miles of trail to manage and 30% yet to be built, the Continental Divide Trail Alliance trains volunteers and operates an Adopt-A-Trail program.

• The Colorado Fourteeners Initiative trains volunteers to create sustainable trails to the summits of all 54 peaks over 14.000 feet elevation.

• Instructor Training - September 25-26, 2007 at Castlewood Canyon State Park
• Instructor Training - October 3-4, 2007 at the Rocky Mountain Region Office
